About me

I have been painting Mid-Century Modern inspired abstracts and personalized, custom animal portraits with love, attention and care for over a decade. During this time, I have captured the distinctive characteristics and expressions of hundreds of beloved pets, farm animals and wildlife. Many of my pet portrait collectors have repeatedly commissioned me to paint their furry family members. In addition to my painting practice, I also digitally create abstracts and animal paintings. I use my abstract techniques to enrich all of my painting disciplines: custom pet portraits, abstracts, landscapes and Mid-Century Modern inspired abstracts for homes in Colorado and beyond.

  Priest HoleExpressive abstract painting in acrylic on canvas board. The first photo is taken in front of my house in Colorado, USA. It's late-January and VERY cold and wintery here, as of this posting. I'd forgotten how green it gets in the summertime! There is a whirling figure hidden in the canvas, the inspiration behind its title. I've always been fascinated by religion and the violence associated with it. What a waste of life and emotion.   Winter's RoosterI created this magnificent rooster with via Procreate on my iPad. The colors are referenced from a1950's book on interior styling.   Mid-Century Modern Inspired AbstractI created this abstract via Procreate using a classic Mid-Century Modern color palette and sell prints of it in a wide range of sizes in archival inks on watercolor paper. This line of my work has as much or more interest than my pet portraits and painted abstracts, which was a pleasant surprise. I studied art for four years, spread out over 12, because I became I raised a child by myself while taking classes here and there, oftentimes bringing my child with me to class. I worked several part time and contract jobs while working towards my degree, and after finally earning it, worked as a program/gallery director for an arts organization in Denton, TX and as a graphic designer/marketing specialist/event planner for the University of North Texas. I've been painting 100% professionally since 2012.
