About me
I'm a second year product designer currently studying at Loughborough University and looking for placement work opportunities to continue my learning in 2019-2020. I have particular interests in reconfigurable, adaptive design, biomimicry, as well as medical applications and additive manufacturing technologies. I found these interests as I was introduced to design whilst working as an extra on film sets. There I was able to observe artistic approaches of production crews solving complex scenarios to produce incredible results. Leading me to realise that I would also like to work ‘behind the scenes’, using creative focus for the benefit of others. As even though good design is said to be invisible, if I can work to positively impact people’s lives in anyway, then I’ll be satisfied. No matter if the visibility is shared with a team or simply blends seamlessly into everyday use. Which is why since then, I have sought and participated in different projects to further my knowledge and to expand on creative ideas. Experiences such as running a student company to sell products to the general public which I had designed, teaching children creative skills through sessions I created for programmes or even producing a research project for the issues surrounding stigmatised medical conditions. I have a need to pursue concepts that have the potential to improve quality of life. And so any work or experience that can lend to this, I will consider invaluable.

     - United StatesFull Time
I worked as a counsellor, guiding children aged 5 to 17 through the girl scout summer camp experience by organising, caring and leading programmes. For after completing 2 weeks of training, each 'session' we were assigned campers to look after, keep safe and entertain. On top of this we also had to generate programmes to lead for general camp life, which campers would sign up to. I led a mystery challenge that taught skills from deciphering codes to origami, as well as a more active programme that gradually introduced Ultimate Frisbee to absolute beginners. This role gave me even more experience in working with children as well as handling issues within the camp in a professional manner to uphold the organisations standards to deliver wonderful sessions.

Operations and Product Design DirectorTrak (student company of YE uk)
     - Chesham, United KingdomFreelance
This experience involved starting up a student company consisting of 12 participants from 2 different schools, thus allowing 'Trak' to be born. Trak's main objective was to brainstorm new innovative ideas and bring them to life. Thus, as a team we all had the same desire to produce a new product - one we would completely design and manufacture independently. Initially, we had to buy and sell a variety of products in order to gain a source of income for the company. But this generated sales approach experience for later use and then allowed us to move on to the design process of our 'Animal Traks' range (self assembly flatpack-to-animal-model kits), which I undertook as the Product Design Director. As I additionally acted as the Operations Director, my role encompassed organisation of the design, orders, inventories of stock/material, searches for the most cost effective alternatives and flexibility in providing a manufacturing system that could cope with demand. In doing this I had to resolve manufacturing issues caused by error when outsourcing the production to increase stock count for the Christmas markets. Which I conveyed to the rest of the Trak directors so everyone new exactly when things were happening and at what pace. Aside from this, I took on a more general managing role to encourage less active members of the company to participate. Hence I got some real world experience in working to deadlines, solving problems, delegating tasks and leading a team to highly profitable success.
