I have 15 years of experience in the photography industry and my skills are diverse. I have worked extensively in both studio, and location environments. A portfolio of imagery composed of fashion, portraiture, commercial, e-commerce, art and marketing imagery.
My career has taken me from the early days shooting family portraiture, studio and wedding work to an international job onboard luxury cruise liners in the USA and surrounding countries. I then took up a full time position as photographer and journalist to a local South African magazine. Shooting and co -ordinating cover shoots, product shoots, fashion shoots and portraits for feature articles.
I worked for a major South African brand thereafter, as their lead creative and senior photographer, traveling around the country photographing major campaigns and assisting in the roll out of all these campaigns. My experience here included working in an in house marketing agency, location & model scouting, all direction of all shoots. catalogue and product photography, post production and assisting in print of all imagery across billboards, newspapers, magazines, in store posters and canvases and maintaining current network connections and finding new ones.
I then moved to London to pursue something new and this is reflected in my two new bodies of work described below:
Robyn Halliday’s creative mantra is Women x Women.
Stories told exclusively in the female narrative and examined in a romantic and cinematic style.
Robyn’ s current bodies of work are ‘Swan & Silk’ and ‘Eight’.
‘Swan & Silk’ is the exploration of a woman’s emotional intelligence, sensuality, sexuality and complexity told through her Swan and Silk alter egos.
Her Swan is her fierce, empowered, dark, erotic, dangerous and mysterious. Her Silk is her whimsical, light, elegant, playful, romantic and dreamy.
‘Eight’ creates a new genre in car photography, telling stories that celebrate and elevate a woman’s relationship with cars within a richer and deeper narrative.
I am most passionate about working with people, portraiture and fashion orientated work being my preference. I have a keen interest in the fashion industry, the arts, travel, culture, technology and design.

My own business. This includes two bodies of work. Swan and Silk and Eight.
Eight focuses on storytelling through photography of classic cars and women. The photography is highly cinematic and pens a female main character and an iconic classic car. There will be eight stories told per year. I conceptualise, scout locations, models and cars. I also style the shoot end to end, deciding on the hair, makeup, wardrobe and direction. I photograph all of it and do all of the post production.
Swan and Silk is an exploration of women through sensual and romantic portraiture. Exploring the dualistic nature of what it means to be a woman.
