About me
My name is Roger and welcome to my profile page.
I like using strong shapes, silhouettes and simple lines, without too much detail, and letting the viewer's mind fill in the gaps.
My illustration work has been used for internal presentations - digitally and printed.
I am always looking for new and exciting projects including publishing, editorial, animation, advertising, design & packaging.
Projects
- Animation samplesI was asked to create artwork to be used in an animated video for a company's internal event. Each section of the video had to be short, so it was a good opportunity for me to use my animation style too. These are edited samples from the video of the portions that I animated. The full version is accompanied with text. These are frame by frame animations. I used Adobe Flash to plan the keyframes, then drew each frame in Adobe Illustrator and finally compiled in After Effects, so they could be composited into the final video.
- Customer onboardingI worked with a financial consultancy company to create a short storyboard, in comic book style, showing a customer's experience opening a new bank account. Used as part of a presentation for my client's customer. Created in Adobe Illustrator. Some text has been removed on this version.
- TrollThis is in response to the phenomenon of 'trolling' and 'internet trolls'. On the wiki page it says that in Japan the act of trolling is referred to as 'fishing'. And in China: 'white eye' - since the pupil is the part of the eye you need for seeing, someone who takes part in 'trolling' is often talking 'blindly'.
- Account for life concept boardsI was asked to create a series of illustrations of how a new product could help and support an account holder through stages of their life - from providing guidance choosing goals, helping to understand their money/savings more to the process of buying a home. The final artwork was used as part of an internal presentation and was accompanied with text, from the client, to detail the technical aspects of the product.
- SnapDonate concept boardsI was asked to create a series of concept illustrations that would show how an idea for a mobile APP, 'SnapDonate' could be used to donate money to charity. The client wanted to show how this APP could work in various scenarios. In these early stage concepts of the product, the APP would take a picture of a 'QR code' to make a donation. The final released version of 'SnapDonate' enables its users to donate money to a charity of their choice by simply 'snapping' the charity's logo. Please visit http://snapdonate.org/
