About me
Hi! I'm Roisin, and I'm a Technical Editor who loves getting into the intricate detail of pattern design. By day I work for a sewing magazine, editing patterns and projects for the beginner sewist to make them as simple and stress-free as possible. By night I work with indie pattern brands and clothing designers to perfect their products.
Developing patterns can be a big responsibility. Brand credibility relies on patterns being correct and simple to construct, so having another set of eyes look at your files before hitting send can be a huge weight off of your shoulders. I have a degree in Fashion specialising in couture techniques and have previously collaborated with companies big and small to develop patterns and samples for vintage clothing, lingerie, womenswear, and childrenswear. I’ve tested vintage reproduction patterns for the V&A, led stitching workshops for over 200 people at industry events, liaised with European garment factories, and worked with well-known craft brands such as Simply Sewing, Mollie Makes, and Love Embroidery.
If you want clean-cut, clear and simple patterns for the maker-community or are looking to develop a clothing line, then get in touch. Whether you’re just starting out or are an established brand, I can help. You might have a clear idea of what you need, or you might just want to bounce ideas around! Feedback is always informal and friendly with simple, actionable suggestions.
