Hotel Assistant & Barman
I am currently on a ski season in St Christoph, Austria, working in the 'Sporthotel'. As a Hotel Assistant i have been required to help out in maintaining a healthy and enjoyable environment for any guests. From cleaning toilets to snow clearing, a hotel assistant has to make sure the hotel is running smoothly without any issues. It was also stressed by Inghams that all hotel assistants must have excellent people skills to make the guests feel at home. Having lived here for 5 month it has also given me an insight of living within a different culture for a period of time.
Bar Supervisor

As a supervisor i had to overlook the pub while the managers were off work. This meant alot of the time i was handling and solving any problems that arose. It was also my responsibility to close down the pub and cash up the tills. Nonetheless it was also very important to create a friendly environment in the pub; it was part of my job to make the customers feel welcome and comfortable.

Film Studies at Southampton Solent University was a course that had a balance of theory and production. In terms of production i had group projects at the end of each semester, ranging from documentaries (see below) to period dramas. The theory side of the course gave me an insight into the social, political and psychological context of film.
