About me
I'm outgoing and self-motivated, with a proven track record working in audience engagement and communication. I have strong organisational and problem-solving skills based on experience of working in communication, administrative and public liaison roles over the last 10 years. Throughout my experience, I have developed strong written communication skills, writing blogs and content for social media, as well as writing and editing articles for publication and grant applications for community projects. I have a BA in Ancient History and Archaeology. I am just coming to the end of career break, having taken a year out to travel, and am particularly keen for opportunities in the travel industry; writing content or in social media management.

Digital Engagement OfficerCambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Ser
     - Cambridge, United KingdomFull Time
During my time with Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue I was responsible for the daily output on all three of their social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram Twitter), developing a social media strategy for the ‘brand’ and guidelines for staff. I used Hootsuite to schedule posts, monitor content and conversations from partner organisations, and as a social listening tool, measuring responses and reactions to the Service’s activity. In this role I used inbuilt analytics to analyse audience demographics and engagement, using the data gathered to develop an online personality aimed at engaging with existing audiences, whilst also working towards engaging new target demographics. The role required a high level of creativity as I needed to develop new ideas for engagement (e.g. creating animations, infographics, and memes), as well as for social media campaigns developed to aid recruitment and promote safety messages. Together with the Media and Communication Team, we were shortlisted for awards in the Public Sector Communication Awards, and the ‘Unawards’ hosted by Comms2Point0

    Community ArchaeologistDigVentures
     - London, United KingdomFull Time
DigVentures is a social enterprise that puts archaeology into the hands of the public; designing and delivering collaborative, crowdfunded excavations that are open for anyone to join. As a Community Archaeologist, my main focus was on getting people enthused about archaeology and the work of DigVentures, helping to build connections and drive enthusiasm for the subject. This job involved liaising with project participants, as well as the public who interacted with the digs, keeping them informed on progress and educating them about archaeology. A key aspect of the role was outreach, communicating with audiences over social media, face-to-face during our projects, and through running school education sessions. In the field, I worked front of house, welcoming visitors and supporting social media feeds. Off site, I continued to support communication through monitoring the social media channels, writing blogs and social posts, and writing content for the website and associated micro-sites on WordPress. You can view examples of some of my blog posts here: https://digventures.com/author/rosanna/. Here you will also find examples of some of the videos I created for site diaries and updates. I was also heavily involved in project planning; developing, writing, and editing content for the websites; creating content for a Massive Open Online Course; and writing grant applications to ensure DigVentures always had new and exciting projects to run each year.
