With a BSc in Psychology and experience working in digital marketing, my passion is grounded in writing and communications. My background in studying the way we think has proved eternally useful in understanding how people perceive... and as such, provided the perfect grounding for how to successfully communicate in the first place. I work with a mind for details, leaving no stone left unturned when structuring a plan and assuring it's carried out to its fullest potential. I consciously strive to balance pragmatic initiative, constructive self-criticism and a healthy appreciation for the powers of 'the hive mind'. I'm the kind of person that gets a kick out of taking complicated ideas and turning them into digestible ones, and nothing gets me 'in the zone' like typing up a proposal or blog piece. At heart, i'm a lover of the great outdoors and snap up any weekend opportunity to escape to the countryside for camp fires and wild swimming. On weekdays, I appease city living with an indoor jungle of house plants and canal-side running.
My expertise is centred in copywriting and content curation. I manage organic social media and blog content and write copy for all email marketing communications, as well as for product catalogues and online merchandising. I have devised and implemented organic social media strategy and worked closely with creative designers to develop assets for use across channels. As part of a continually evolving and responsive strategy, I create weekly reports and analyse fluctuations to glean insight.
Soul of Africa is a social enterprise and charitable trust that works closely with (and from the same office of) VIVOBAREFOOT, my current full-time employer. I provided part-time maternity cover to the managing director. This varied and dynamic role provided a chance to gain insight spanning the entire business. I managed decisions relating to Ecommerce and Marketing strategy (Inc. Website management, merchandising, Social Media, Email, reporting) as well as producing monthly board packs, writing the charity's blog and all online customer correspondence. I also co-ordinated profile-raising events, notably including an event in the House of Lords centred on the discussion of The African leather & textiles industry.
I tutored an 18 year old girl in the lead up to re-sitting her Psychology A level.
I supported the director in the smooth running of the practice, managing patient invoicing and accounts and liaising between patients and therapists to co-ordinate appointments. My employer has made the special effort to meet with me 2 – 3 times a week to discuss her therapeutic approaches to her patients and to include me in therapist supervisions in order to provide insight into the confidential dynamics of the therapeutic process.
