Rosie Davies-Smith is the founder and director of LFA and the founder of PR Dispatch. Since 2014 she has been changing the way brands with great products approach the press. Her disruptive approach to PR hasn’t gone unnoticed. In 2016 Rosie won Great British Creative Industries Entrepreneur of the year, in 2017 LFA was included in Start-up 100 and in 2019 PR Dispatch was chosen as 1 of the final 3 businesses for Female Start-up of the Year.
LFA: I founded LFA in early 2014 after realising that brands were frustrated that PR cost upwards of £3000 per month but the traditional approach to contacting the press was outdated and the impact press it had on sales was changing. Brands needed to start looking at PR as one part of a 360-awareness strategy.
There was clearly a gap in the market for an agency that had a digital approach to PR outreach and therefore could offer PR at a more affordable cost each month. I stripped the traditional PR business model including the central London Showroom, press days, expensive dinners to offer services that were honest and produced results.
We’ve worked with some of the best product-based businesses in the UK including Estella Bartlett, Bedfolk and Beija London gaining them thousands of pieces of quality coverage.
PR Dispatch: I kept meeting great brands with press worthy product that couldn’t afford a PR agency. I knew that with the right contacts and guidance brands could secure top press coverage. With this in mind in 2017 I founded PR Dispatch, a PR subscription service enabling brands to DIY their PR for just £59 per month, and subscribers have gained coverage in publications such as Metro, Stylist, Observer & many more.
