I am a writer, editor and content specialist with a masters in writing from Royal College of Art. My work spans nonfiction, journalism, criticism, branding and communications.
The breadth of my writing and editorial experience across the arts—from academia to communications and brand building—has equipped me with skills in writing, editing, research, pitching and commissioning; along with a highly driven and self-starting approach.
As a brand specialist, I have produced digital content, branded content and media releases for institutions including UAL, LCF and RCA and brands such as Marta Jakubowski, NEOUS, Concentric Circles theatre company's Arts Council funded project; and Alpha Industries. These roles involve disseminating brand messaging through a multi-channel approach, from social media captions to direct mail-out/newsletter and website content.
As a freelance creative-critical and academic writer, I have work held in the Women’s Art Library at Goldsmiths College, University of London, and published in MAP magazine, PIN-UP Magazine and various anthologies.
I have sought out opportunities to gain relevant communications skills, from branding to messaging, editing, SEO optimisation, commissioning content and working to deadline. I am adept at using content management systems including Terminal4, Square Space, Wordpress; and communications tools such as Mailchimp, Eventbrite and Zoom.
I understand the rapid growth and change in the digital sector and how social media has become an information channel. Thus, I have experience in disseminating messaging via social media; as well as employing social media scheduling and analysing audience engagement and retention. For Concentric Circles theatre company, it meant establishing a presence and building an audience; devising social media content series, which involved a ‘backstage’ meet the cast series of videos.
I am a strategic and lateral thinker—innovating new content ideas and opportunities. In my role at LCF, I established content partnerships with London-based radio station NTS and Google Arts & Culture, in order to reach new audiences, both prospective students and the public.
The breadth of my experience demonstrates my agility and a highly driven and self-starting attitude, alongside a genuine enthusiasm for the arts and third sector. I have done project-based work for most of my professional career, including project management and assistance, and enjoy seeing things through to completion.
