My work tends to be very bold, experimental and wacky. I have specialised in various textile techniques over the years particularly including digital print, screen printing, laser cut, pleating and sonic welding surrounding the theme of surrealism and a dream-like reality. I have also practiced the aspect of sustainability through reducing fabric limitation and using alternative natural fabrics such as silk.
Projects
- Urban GlitchMy project surrounding the theme Urban Glitch for an Autumn/Winter 2024 collection, was initially influenced by the short film Koyaanisqatsi (1982), meaning life out of balance directed by Godfrey Reggio. This film shows a time lapse portraying the gradual destruction of the world and how humanity has grown apart from nature. I used experimental techniques such as sonic welding, UV printing, laser cutting, digital print, jesmonite casting and pleating. I also enjoyed educating myself further on
- Sci-Fi SurrealismI experimented with collage involving fruits and florals for fashion, alongside working with waste limitation to practice sustainability. This swiftly moved onto an addition of themes such as sci-fi, space and unique flowers where I collaged digitally using photoshop and experimenting with different colour hues. My aim was to create a world of my own using the methods of photoshop, digital print, sonic welding and laser cut.
