Violet Cakes is a bespoke cake company and café based in East London. Famed for making the most recent Royal Wedding cake, Violet was experiencing huge growth as I joined.
As General Manager I was based in the office and was responsible for running the bakery/café operation from staff management through to building maintenance. I recruited all FOH staff, handled HR (performance reviews, new staff on boarding, staffing issues), processed payroll for 20+ staff members, dealt with any escalated customer complaints/issues, managed and processed all invoices payable/receivable. I also handled all PR enquiries on behalf of the owner and was responsible for scheduling interviews, arranging photo shoots and other press related activities. Most recently I was project managing Violet’s building renovation; obtaining quotes from various contractors and monitoring timelines and budgets.

New to London, I joined URW as an Office Manager/Personal Assistant to three Directors (Commercial, Design and Project) on a temporary basis. This was a traditional PA role and responsibilities included diary management, booking high volumes of local/international travel, arranging internal and external meetings, recruiting and managing the administration team, management of the office (100+ employees) and writing weekly office wide project updates on behalf of the Project Director.
