I'm currently Product Lead at a tech-for-good startup, where I've spent the last four years learning skills in service design, UX and product management. I've gained a good insight into what it takes to run a startup—and seen the product team grow from one to six. And I've worked alongside a wide range of stakeholders including government bodies, contractors and community organisations. Previously I completed a Masters in Leadership for Sustainable Development.
I set the agenda for the product team - set the delivery schedule, support the UI designer and developers, work out specifications and UX for new features including user research / testing. I also lead on marketing campaigns that overlap with product goals. Our first product, the Social Value Exchange, has helped create over £700k community benefits from £25m procurement spend in the Greater London area.
My role involved user research and service design, working with designers and developers to build a usable version of the Social Value Exchange. I also planned an event and ran marketing campaigns, including a fortnightly newsletter.
Studied systems theory and innovation in the context of food, energy and climate. Peer-led a module, facilitated an event for industry professionals on sustainability in Finance. Completed placements (6 weeks each) at UK Sustainable Investment & Finance Association, National Audit Office, Unilever and Friends of the Earth. Projects involved helping organise events and workshops, stakeholder engagement, presenting research findings and working on campaigns. I also interviewed people of influence in these organisations and wrote academic reports on their sustainability, bringing in other learning and system innovation theory.
Focused on composition, electro-acoustics and ethnomusicology.
