Former Arts & Culture editor at Time Out and Features Editor at Reaction Media. I have recently moved back to the UK from Melbourne and am looking for freelance work/roles within the arts/culture space.
I am also a part-time satirical illustrator who has had work published in The Economist and the New Statesman.

- Brainstormed, researched, pitched and wrote trend-setting content for feature articles, reviews, culture news, profile interviews, deep dives and listicles across a wide range of topics
-Oversaw the operations of some of the biggest events in the city's calendar including: Melbourne Fringe Festival, Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Melbourne International Film Festival, Rising Festival,Melbourne International Jazz Festival and Always Live
- Commissioned a team of external writers to review shows and exhibitions, ensuring traffic goals are met
- Used SEO and social media to grow our audience and inspire existing audiences to engage more deeply with a range of content
- Posted daily across all social media platforms, including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, TikTok etc
- Participated in brainstorming and ideation for commercial proposals, particularly related to the arts

- Conducted regular interviews for features with a number of high-profile interviewees including Dr Robin Carhart-Harris, Thomasina Miers, Charles Saumarez Smith, Jeremy Lee. Clippings linked here.
- Deputised for the Editor when necessary and developed the editorial strategy, overseeing day-to-day operations and implementing SEO strategies. Sub-edited and fact-checked copy for grammar, consistency, clarity and accuracy.

Awarded a distinction in City University's Broadcast Journalism course.
Taught how to successfully operate in a fast-paced digital, television and radio newsroom and how to cultivate editing software like Adobe Audition and Premiere Pro. I learnt valuable lessons on how to accurately source and report stories, with respect to OFCOM, Journalism Ethics and UK Media Law. Furthermore, I learnt the importance of SEO, Google Analytics and UGC, essential components of the modern-day newsroom.
