About me
My name is Saioa, I was born in a town that has 100 citizens in the Basque Country, North of Spain, yes 100. A small but beautiful town located in the middle of a valley, and surrounded by an incredible nature and mountains. This place has somehow converted me on the person I am but also has given me the curiosity and adventurous spirit to discover the world, the people who lives on it and each magical traditions and treasures. The Entrepreneurial Leadership and Innovation Bachelor has transformed me into another person, has awakened in my deepest many dreams, ideas and passions, as well as many abilities and new strengthes. But above all I am clear about one thing: I want to fight and make from the world a more beautiful and kinder place to be while sharing my passions and awakening the rest's. And I want to make it from the sustainable and ethical fashion and textile industry.

Internship as business developerHecho por Nosotros
     - Buenos Aires, ArgentinaFull Time
The NGO Hecho por Nosotros and its sister social enterprise animaná. Both arise from Latin America empowering artisans from Peru, Bolivia and Argentina, preserving their ancestral arts, natural fibers and thus taking them to the world to create a much fair and sustainable textile and fashion industry. The NGO works in training artisans, education for a broad public and above all research projects and also in projects to solve current problems of the industry with different actors such as foundations, government ... animaná, with a Boutique in Paris and another one in Buenos Aires and online sales in Europe and America markets different products from communities, families, cooperatives and small businesses from Peru, Bolivia and Argentina, which are made with natural fibers mostly from South American camelids, preserving their ancestral techniques but intervening contemporary design. So I was doing my internships there mostly with Hecho por Nosotros and I also did there my thesis. This was the tittle: "Towards an ordered market in the sector of South American camelids through a collaborative cluster". However, I also participated in the development of many other NGO programs and in the definition of the business lines and core programs of the NGO. Other tasks and responsibilities: -Coordinating the network of collaborators and volunteers. -Development and creation of a wide range of programs with international actors such as the government of Argentina, the Avina Foundation, International Trade Center. -Measure of impact through different new models and measurement of the improvement of the life of artisans, having a direct communication with them. -Participating and organizing several events such as: 2nd Iberoeka Cyted Forum Production Chain South American Camelid Innovations and collaboration in the 3rd that takes place in May in Bolivia, Mola (Uruguay), Global objectives for a sustainable textile industry in the 56th Commission for the social development, at the UN, New York. The experience of Hecho por Nosotros and animaná helped me a lot for entering the world of fashion as well as sustainability and ethics. I learned about the real impact of this industry, towards which direction is moving, the main, actors that are working in the field. In addition, I learned about impact measurement and about more technical aspects of natural fibers, mainly camelid fibers, community and artisan development, etc.

At Boinas Elósegui we not only stand behind the quality of our products but also in the conditions which they are produced. We differentiate ourselves from the competition who in wide part use low-quality raw materials and production processes that do not respect the environment, labor conditions, nor social sustainability which we hold ourselves accountable to. With almost 160 years of experience, Boinas Elósegui is one of the few European companies with fully integrated production processes, from fabric to finishing operations. Our in-house fabrication is closely controlled in order to guarantee the quality of the final product. Our products are tailored with the finest raw materials. In the case of our berets, we use 100 % merino wool, which results in flexible, warm, and comfortable products. This type of wool also offers greater insulation (both for the cold and the heat), is water repellent, and very breathable.
