A trusted advisor to C-suite leaders, I’m a creative and solution-focussed senior communications professional with the ability to simplify and deliver complex messages, driving understanding, excitement and engagement. Currently managing a team of eight communication professionals in a challenging, fast-paced energy sector, I am responsible for developing the high-level strategy for internal communications to achieve understanding, trust and engagement in the business vision. Reporting to the Communications Director, I set the tone of voice and communications priorities for the business, writing all emails, scripts and briefing notes for the Managing Director, as well as overseeing all internal campaigns and channel development.

    Awarded ‘Coach of the Year’ by my team and wider colleagues for my “...thoughtful, caring approach to management.” And regarded as “...a creative powerhouse, who isn't afraid to show vulnerability and get stuck in.” Designed and implemented the internal launch of a new strategy to 4,500 employees, resulting in 86% of survey respondents agreeing that a clear vision was communicated and 86% strongly believing in the vision. Project and content lead for a series of innovative hybrid events for 650 managers resulting in an average Net Promoter Score of 86 (deemed world class), 65% reduction in cost vs. ‘traditional’ events and receiving an ‘Award of Excellence’ for ‘Best Employee Event’ from the Institute of Internal Communications. Set up and chaired daily COVID-19 crisis calls and was responsible for all internal communication and messaging to employees throughout this period. Action now seen as ‘best practice’ and used to manage ongoing ‘energy crisis’ communication and planning sessions across business. Lead for all internal communications regarding high-profile, large-investment acquisitions made by the business (Pod Point, Green Network Energy, Toto Energy etc), ensuring employees are informed, engaged and understand the rationale and impact of the change. Significantly increased employee engagement scores across business by 21%, with survey provider IPSOS, highlighting ‘excellent internal communications’ as a key factor in uplift.
