Samira Navas is a recent Graduate of the University of Miami, and an alumni of Florida International University. She holds a Master of Science in Media Management and Bachelor of Science in Digital Communication.
As a partnership between the Herbert Business School, and the UM School of Communication, Samira's Master of Science in Media Management has been key to further her career in the media and communication industry, while gaining knowledge and skills for the business of media. During the program she has been exposed to both business principles, and different aspects of media including media law, broadcast, and PR.
Recently during her internship at Univision, she learned and practiced the latest trends in digital storytelling. As she finished her graduate degree, Samira worked as an Editorial Assistant and extended her skills in the journalism and publishing area which is where her passion for the media industry stems from. From writing, to creating meaningful content whether through social media, blogs, Photoshop, PremierePro, or other creative outlets, Samira has implemented such skills in professional settings and hopes to continue doing so, eventually through a managerial and leadership role in the media industry. Her topics of interest are fashion, culture, beauty, and lifestyle as seen on her blog, Stylishly Cultured.
