About me
I'm a freelance journalist, writer and audio producer. I have a passion for personal story telling. I’m particularly skilled at sourcing original ideas, researching, emotional interviewing, location recording and editing complex features and documentaries. I have more than five years of experience with ProTools, and am proficient in Audition, Reaper and Ableton. Before journalism, I worked abroad as a survey scuba diver and spent a year in social care. Through these experiences, and my degree in literature, I developed a taste for human stories and the skills to frame them in a non-judgemental and approachable way. I’ve been working on a freelance basis since March 2022, researching and producing audio stories while completing my master’s degree in journalism. A portfolio of my work can be found at my website. I grew up near Edinburgh in a town called North Berwick. I've lived in Glasgow, Santiago de Chile, Cambodia, Greece, Mainz and Austin, TX where I got my start in radio at KVRX. I currently live in Bristol. In my spare time I read and write about fiction, produce a new music show on BCfm, play football, frolic in rivers and the ocean, take cold showers, and pursue the world's greatest fish taco. I interview artists about their new work during promotional cycles, then write the content for the online magazine (always delivered before the release of the material). This is an ongoing role, and a selection of my interviews can be found on my website.

A single voice piece with a mixture of actuality and interview, with an emphasis on founder of the Gay Liberation Front Ted Brown’s personal testimony of the Brixton uprisings in 1981. I worked with the Empathy Museum to identify the contributor, conducted a pre-interview, and recorded the final interview. I then delivered a rough edit and final edit. The full process was completed within a 2-week period and the exhibition will be launched in Brixton in November 2022.
