Sam spent the majority of his childhood receiving treatment and surgery for a rare breathing problem. He grew up breathing through a tracheostomy and as a result of many laser surgeries on his airway he was without a voice from a very young age. At the age of 19 he underwent a round of reconstructive surgeries on both his airway and his larynx, where vocal cords were succesfully fabricated from a skin graft taken from his thigh. He spoke his first physiologically correct words after waking up from his final surgery at age 20. What emerged was a deep, husky, incredibly recognisable voice. Sam was lucky enough to be introduced to James Earl Jones (The voice of Mufasa and Darth Vader) who initially thought he was taking the mickey. After hearing the story behind the voice James gave the sound advice "you must do something with that voice". Documentaries currently in pre production; WHO WE ARE - exploring the lives of LGBTQ+ people in Eswatini in Southern Africa. The film will shine a light on the reality of living in a country where homosexuality is illegal. SING - exploring the healing power of singing.
TDC-PR commisioned me to create an online magazine focusing on design & creativity. My role here was to creatively lead the project directing a team of 3 from conception to completion. I am now running the magazine creating engaging written and visual content, and increasing growth. We have received some great feedback from within the industry and really look forward to increasing our presence and aesthetic in the near future.

Assisting in the idea generation and visual aesthetic for campaigns across mainline, blue, kids & eyewear.
Assisting the fashion director Lucy Ewing on main fashion stories for the weekly Sunday Times Style. I liaised with press offices to organise call-ins, as well as creating strong healthy working relationships. Idea generation and research for private jobs including a campaign for The Dorchester Hotel Collection.
