    Music Director St. Stephen’s Church, East Twickenham Head of music and sound production at St. Stephen’s East Twickenham, London’s 5th largest Church of England church with a weekly attendance of 500+ people. Reports to the Vicar and have progressed from the internship program to now heading up a department. Staff Management: Responsible for multiple direct reports including two department assistants as well as the recruitment, training and development for the internship program. Ensuring 1-2-1’s, PDR forms, annual leave details and monthly SMART targets are in place for my direct reports. Volunteer Management: Heading up a weekly volunteer team of 35+ people which includes the management and communication of distributing job roles to effectively run multiple events that engage with all ages. As well as recruiting volunteers, this role also includes holding auditions and ensuring the commitment to volunteers to support their musical development through training, often including 1-2-1 developmental support or running volunteer team training seminars. Regular and intense management of calendar scheduling, room bookings and communicating to a variety of teams. Complying with GDPR by efficiently managing online databases and contact details for volunteer teams. Financial and Regulation Management: Responsible for a department budget which includes recording expenditure, signing off purchases from staff within my department, working with the financial department to determine a budget for each fiscal year including ring-fencing budget for any foreseen areas of development identified in the department. Purchasing and maintaining licenses with Ofcom, CCLI, PRS for Music and ensuring the charity complies with Music Copyright Law. Producing weekly reports of music performed ensuring we pay the correct royalties to producers and songwriters of any resources used. Event Coordinator: Point of contact for clients to ensure implementation of the client’s vision for music, sound and stage design at events including weddings, funerals, seminars and community events on top of the weekly running and management of services and events hosted by St. Stephen’s. Technology: Competent using Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. In-depth knowledge of sound production systems including the operational elements and system design of such systems. Point of contact for troubleshooting sound production problems. Teaching sound operations to volunteers in a group teaching session as well as 1-2-1’s. Setting up Apple devices used for volunteer teams. Creative and Communication: Performing to a weekly congregation size of 600+ including singing, playing acoustic and bass guitar. Public speaker including vision casting to volunteers at team training days. 1-2-1 and group teaching on practical musical and sound training as well informative teaching on the history of music within Church. Songwriter whose songs are being sung in multiple churches.
