In my current position at KI6? Who are you? as a part time sales consultant, I provide a special one to one service to guide customers through their shopping requirements, giving suggestions and advice on purchasing from every day work clothes to choosing the right outfit for a wedding. I enjoy working within a small team because I am a very sociable person and eager to learn from the knowledge of others. I am a dynamic and active individual who enjoys interacting with both customers and co-workers alike. Experience working across a range of artistic organisations has ensured that I am flexible, adapt quickly and easily obtain new skills. My experience within retail, customer service and communications environments has facilitated my exposure to a variety of people and cultures from across the world. As a result I feel that I am well-rounded, communicate well and can easily become a productive member of any team.
In my placement as an assistant for a Textile Agent at Deborah Curtiss I was able to utilise the above mentioned skills whilst also developing my customer service competence and team working abilities. I spent four months liaising with her mills in China, Turkey and Corea. As well as dealing with Hight Street Head Designers and Factories in London. Assisting the textile agent during meetings with clients such us Ted Baker, Next, Ariella, River Island, Topshop among others. Preparing cuttings to send to the clients, working on research of what’s in at the moment and what’s coming next.
During my TEXTILE DESIGN Work Experience at MIRJAM ROUDEN, I gained an initial understanding of working in textile design. This was also an opportunity to develop my drawing skills using different materials and techniques.
I secured an internship position with Fannie Schiavoni, a designer specialising in Fashion Jewellery. My role began in Public Relations, where I regularly liaised with other designers, celebrities and magazines, amongst other clients. I then progressed to making several pieces on behalf of the designer as everything in the studio was hand made. Excelling in this work then lead to the incredible opportunity of providing illustrations of the jewellery to the designer for company use. As Fannie Schiavoni also worked as a stylist, I found myself in the position of stylist’s assistant at several shoots. This experience enabled me to advance my already impressive organizational skills and allowed me to build upon knowledge acquired in my Fashion and Retail Masters Degree; specifically within the fields of Cool Hunting, Personal Shopping, Styling and Visual Merchandising.
