I have had a strong hand in a multitude of creative pieces including short films and videos touching on sensitive topics such as ‘Being Transgender’, where I've not only been able to showcase skills, hone my craft and grow as a creator, but also had the opportunity to grow as a person, on top of other numerous pieces developed for my course.
On top of this, I entered a short film into the children’s international film festival competition in 2016, which was lucky enough to win in its sub category. I am currently dabbling in personal film projects and an Instagram/YouTube channel to fully emerge myself and my talents into the world of media. Additionally, I also have a range of necessary skills and experience pertaining to the specifically listed requirements and pros particular to this role. To illustrate, I have had experience in editing software’s like Final Cut Pro (basic) and Adobe Premiere pro, audition, Photoshop and so on. Aside from the editing, I also have a familiarity with filming, born out of using a wide range of cameras varying in quality like the IPhone, Canon EOS 6D and C200, and even a Go Pro. As well as this I have created websites in correspondence to/promoting short films created for my coursework using the site ‘Wix’ as well as on Adobe Portfolio.
I have also gathered necessary skills from my previous work experience specifically to do with content creation, handling social media and promotional opportunities, I worked as an assistant marketing manager for ‘The Luxury Closet’, where my main roles were handling all social media accounts of the company from their Facebook and Tumblr pages to their main website. Other parts of my role included designing banners, organising photoshoots, organising video content and making sure everything reported and created was up to date and of high-quality feeding into my creative skills/creativity and good attention to details for the tasks assigned to me. I also had the opportunity to work as a Content intern for a sustainable company organising and executing product shoots as well as organising other marketing materials.
Aside from my qualities that are particularly necessary to this job role, I also have general characteristics I believe to be applicable that will enable me to make an effective contribution to the team. For example, I am very flexible and able to adapt to different tasks. This means that I will be an easy staff member to work with, one that takes initiative and confidently faces adversity head-on. I have had a love for the media industry and content creation for as long as I can remember and am incredibly passionate and precise when it comes to the work I am provided with.
