I am a highly motivated, creative individual. Able to work successfully in high-pressure situations, I am a dynamic team player always willing to do what is needed and find a solution to a problem. Collaborative, coordinated and passionate, I thrive knowing I am helping the team and making a difference. I have a natural proactive flare and will happily work under my own directions, as well as effectively integrating as part of a team, analysing situations and attempting to pre-empt what will be needed. This makes me an eager aspirant, someone who is known for having a smile on my face.
Working closely with in house pattern cutters and machinists, as well as specing styles to be made externally, we develop styles for a spectrum of UK retailers. Designing collaboratively alongside both in house and customer Design, Buying and Production teams, across Woven and Jersey product areas. Using inspirational trips, such as to Europe, London shopping and the Races to be surrounded by our customer and truly absorb how she wears our product. Successfully feeding this back to the teams and new development meetings with the customer, to create stronger product and secure higher sales. Translating customer needs into a cohesive offering, whilst balancing production capabilities, we are reactive to social media to ensure we are the first offering new product or fabric translations, as well as collating research to inform on emerging trends and micro trends that is inline with the customer vision. Co-ordinating juniors to help prepare for meetings etc, whilst mentoring them to improve skills and advance in the team.

Last month I was lucky enough to spend time supporting the Womenswear Design Team at River Island. This was an exciting opportunity to expand my Design specific experience with a leading high street retailer. Working closely with the Skirt Designer in particular, I was able to design and spec ideas for the coming season as well as researching for mood boards, constructing colour palettes and sourcing trims. DESIGN ? Generating new season colour palettes and inspiration stories. ? Souring and meeting with Trim suppliers. ? Researching for specific lines. ? Editing and selecting research for mood board presentation. ? Research for specific garments and finishes. ? Designing for skirts. ? Design Development. ? Specing my own designs, as well as generating specs packs for other designs. ? Creating mood boards for Design Controller. ? Researching for the Head of Design. ? Spec drawings for new design pack.
Here I was able to really make the trim department my own, expanding contacts and suppliers alongside sourcing and providing new trim for the season. Ensuring it was all in line with the designer vision and studio functionality. Creating research boards for the season based around technique, trim and accessories, I worked as part of a small team on the contemporary line. My role being very hands on, involved in the entire design process from initial research to handing over to the production team. I began on the Victoria Line as an intern and was offered a permanent role. This meant I have had an extensive range of experience including but not limited to: DESIGN ? Creating research boards for the season, including look, woman, mood and inspiration. ? Creating design boards with drawings and intended fabrics. ? Sourcing appropriate and innovative trim for entire collection. ? Creating design specification drawings for the look book shoes. ? Overseeing the ecommerce and sales photo shoot. ? Producing sales presentation for the end of season. PRODUCTION ? Calculating print layouts, including grading for production. ? Specification drawing, front and back, for the entire collection intended for tech packs. ? Colour specifications, including inserting textured fabrics for accurate depiction for sales line sheets. ADMIN ? Organising the send out of the collection to NYFW and VB selections. ? Preparing and tech packs for production hand over including all garment detail. ? Organising flights, transfers and money for team. ? Booking models and rooms for meetings, and set up.
