About me

I am an Illustrator and designer with a love for patterns, textures and experimental print making techniques. Currently I am working as a Graphics and Illustration assistant at Alchemy Carta LTD, designing for a variety of different mediums in both web and print. Following my Artist in Residency position at Birmingham City University where I specialised in screen printing I now volunteer for the Leicester Print Works to keep furthering my learning in traditional print making.

  Lorde Branding ProjectI created an LP cover and range of posters of the release of Lorde's debut album, with the idea of this being a collectors pressing. I used the musical style and genre to drive my design decisions to create a piece that would describe Lorde as an artist before the consumer had the pleasure of listening to her music.
• Penguin ClassicsFor this project I combined both traditional printmaking skills and digital design to re-create the penguin classic covers. I wanted to create and classic and contemporary cover that was timeless and could be seen as a collectors edition of books.
• Quercus SilverI was tasked to create a website banner for a jewellery designer. For this is used existing images of her pieces and then created my own type on illustrator to create a clean and un-cluttered feeling for her website.
• Cinema CinemaI was asked by the band Cinema Cinema to create an illustration for cover of their EP.
• Alchemy Social MediaOne of my main duties at Alchemy Carta is produce various promotional pieces for their social media platforms to generate excitement around products and events.
• Alchemy Commission AdvertisingAlchemy also produce a range of products on a commission basis. For this they create advert that appeal to an entirely different range of customer base to the jewellery they produce, meaning I had to create an entirely differently styled advert.

I wear many hats with this role. I am the general assistant to the art department at a gothic jewellery company. During my time here I have designed jewellery, website banners, art work for Facebook and Instagram, catalogue pages, adverts and even t-shirts. I take the photographs of the new range, and edit them and colour correct them ready for the website and catalogue. I also am in charge of some of their social media outlets such as Pinterest and the website blog.
