Hybrid Creative: Video Director and Editor | CopywriterUnited Kingdom
About me
I am a FILM PRODUCER/ DIRECTOR, ARTIST, COPYWRITER and VIDEO EDITOR with an exceptional understanding of what makes a story ‘work’. A natural connector and intuitive storyteller, I have interviewed participants for Crafts Council’s ‘Experience Economy Guide’; worked sensitively with clients, crew and subjects in the UK, Europe and Canada in the creation to direct ‘Fight IPF,' short form documentaries about terminal illness; and used audience research to collaborate with young people in the production of ‘Right To Choose’, the UK Border Force’s campaign to put an end to forced marriageable. Integrating technical and conceptual filmmaking knowledge with an in-depth understanding of characters and narrative structure, I collaborated with Walthamstow residents in the creation of ‘Everyday Stories of Colossal Importance’. This project used short social documentaries to inspire the characters and plot lines for a narrative drama that reflected the borough’s quirky William Morris Style aesthetic. Passionate about digital accessibility and initiatives that transform ableist spaces, I have recently directed Defy the Norm: HSBC's video campaign and social cutdowns that put the experiences of disabled people centre stage. As artist/ filmmaker I lead on projection works with community engagement at their core. I have worked with migrants, refugees and First Nations dancers in the creation of ‘Moving Over the Shoreline’: a four channel projection work for the Queensland Multicultural Centre; with musicians and music fans to create ‘Sounds from the Emergent State,’ a six channel documentary that told the story of how punk rock influenced cultural change; and been commissioned to create ‘Machine Leaning,’ images made with #Facet - an image aware content editing software powered by AI. I welcome new opportunities that allow me to use my creative, directing and editing skills to develop high impact stories that contribute to communities in meaningful ways. Key areas of expertise: • Story, concept and treatment development • Creative and contextual research • Hybrid and emerging screen formats • Character development and directing talent • Multi-channel video installation • Editing and VFX • Managing short and long form production processes • Script writing • Creative producing and directing • Structure, rhythm, performance and gesture • Client liaison and relationship building • Collaboratively evolving ideas with cast and crew • Community engagement • Performance driven creative processes • Project design and project management INTERDISCIPLINARY IS THE NEW FRONTIER

#MadewithFacetThese images were #madewithFacet — a content-aware image editor commissioning artists to explore the creative possibilities of their software. After my initial conversation with the team, I was interested in how digital intelligence both forms and deforms creative agency. How could Facet help me to blow up a lifetime of learned techniques, recomposing them in radically new ways? In 'Machine Leaning' I took photographs of one of Facet's Software Engineers through zoom. I wanted to recreate my i

Everyday Stories of Colossal ImportanceWinner of the Reel Walthamstow, Scene Moving Image Commission, Everyday Stories of Colossal Importance is a short film inspired by people’s memories of their local area. The project began with a community engagement process which involved interviewing people who were from, or who currently live in Walthamstow. Aspects of these stories inspired the characters and plotlines found in the screenplay, which aimed to combine powerful narratives with vivid imagery to turn everyday experiences into mag
