About me
Hi, my name is Sasha and I specialize in Character Design, Concept Art and Story Telling. Education I first studied BTEC Creative Media Studies during Secondary School and for my first year in college until I had a change of thought and wanted to get into the Animation Industry. I spent two years at South Essex College in Southend-On-Sea studying for a BTEC Art and Design Animation Level 3 Extended Diploma. During those two years I decided I should become either a 3D animator or a Rigger, so I began to teach myself further into the subject. After the two years, I was enrolled into a small University called Escape Studios. Here I realized that 3D animation and rigging wasn't 100% for me and began to find more enjoyment down the Pre-Production department to becoming a Character Designer, Storyboard artist etc... History I was always a very creative and imaginative child during my infant and junior years. Since the start of Year 5 in Primary School, I found a love for books and intriguing story lines that I began to write my own stories and plays. Something that I found magical at that age happened and a few members of my Year 5 class wanted to perform one of the plays I wrote in front of the rest of the class and then during a assembly in front of the whole school! I remember being both excited and terrified but overwhelmed with the support I got. I was rewarded for my talents during a special assembly, given a Writer Of The Year Reward... with a £30 voucher at Toys-R-Us that had me in heaps of joy back then... This event stayed on my record as I moved to Secondary School and was put into a special club for Talented Creative Writers in Year 8. I was working along side 10 (estimated number... can't exactly remember but there weren't many) other students, a mixture of Year 7s, 8s and 9s, and our club leader was an author called Roy Apps (he wrote My Grandpa's a Vampire). He got us writing all sorts of things, based on the theme he asked for and I remember one being about a real life event we have experienced but twist the story at the end to something fictional. Some of our work got published into a special book called BLAA 2 (unfortunately not in a book shop but I have a copy still). Me being in this special club and was noticed and rewarded for my talents got me into doing more story writing and character creation. This led to me teaching myself how to draw in Year 8 (aged 12 or 13). As many do when they first start to learn how to draw properly, I traced over art done by other people online until I felt comfortable for trying to do freehand. Drawing freehand felt like I was in a horror movie back then as my hand would not stop shaking and scribbling on the paper... sigh... In Year 10, I decided it was about time I tried to create my own big story idea that could possibly be turned into a movie series or programme. I had a nickname for myself that mainly people who I met online with similar interests called me: Luxie. She was my mascot and still is now to this day since it gives me a feeling that I am my own company, my own business. I designed her to be one of the main characters of my big idea that has unfortunately suffered a million concepts... good story telling is hard... Through my process, I had my inspiration. The author of Harry Potter, J.K Rowling is my biggest inspiration and hero. She kept up a great series that led to one of the best movie sagas of all time and I have read and watched every single Harry Potter there is! Story is just top notch! After 5 years from starting the concept, I finally got a good plot and title planned: "UNUSUAL" (More information on the Portfolio page). I began to think how would I deliver the story to the world and many friends suggested I create a Graphic Novel because I could use both my artistic and story writing skills that would be great to show off. I knew from Day 1 that it was going to take a LOT of patience and determination to complete this project but after 5 years of preps... I'm sure 10 years for completing the delivery won't be a big of a deal...
