I’m a multi-disciplined Graphic Designer and Art Director, originally from Scotland now based in London with more than 12 years international experience covering the UK, Middle East and Australia. Specialties encompass graphic design, branding, communication and advertising campaigns, magazine and brochure layout and digital design. I’ve worked with some great brands along the way such as Nike, Royal Mail, Gatwick Airport, Barratt London, Damien Hirst, Post Office, Qatar Museums Authority, the United Nations, Four Seasons, Nandos and Qatari Diar. I’m a believer in keeping it simple, meticulous detail, and good old fashioned hard work. I’m always up for a challenge, I love what I do and I’m down to earth.
Freelance Graphic Designer and Art Director
I overseen an number of agency accounts most notably luxury real estate developer Barratt London. I also headed up two other accounts, the wider Barratt Group and David Wilson Homes. Working across multiple touch points, I produced a range of work covering branding, print, press, outdoor, digital and retail graphics as well as fully integrated campaigns. My role at Publicis required me to be hands-on while leading a team of designers and artworkers on a day to day basis. Projects: David Wilson Homes – Refreshed brand logo, a new visual identity rolled out across press, outdoor, pos and additional site collateral. Royal Mail “MailMen” Campaign – print, direct mail and infographics. Other clients include Gatwick Airport, EE and Wilmington Group.
As Associate Design Director at Mac DDB, my role was to oversee all design of branding and advertising. Leading by example I delivered compelling design solutions for our clients, from established global brands, through to domestic start-ups. I contributed heavily to brand strategy, developing new design concepts and leading design execution whilst developing/mentoring our talented team. Projects: Damien Hirst Relics, the largest collected exhibition of Hirst’s work curated by Qatar Museums Authority – Exhibition identity and fully integrated communication campaign. United Nations Climate Change Conference – COP18 Brand creation and delivery; Qatari Diar Real Estate Corporate Communications, Brand development and events. Other clients include , Qatar Foundation, Qatargas, Qatar National Bank, Qatar Petroleum and to name a few.
Adabisc is an independent full-service creative agency operating in the gulf. As Art Director, my role was to produce thought-provoking concepts that lead the way in the region, while making a real difference to our clients’ businesses. I worked in collaboration with a senior copywriter as well as overseeing a team of graphic designers and finishing artists. The projects ranged from ad campaigns and identities to print, web and interactive applications for renowned international and Qatari brands. Projects: Qtel (Annual Report 08/09/10, Rebranding launch, Mozaic Brand collateral); RasGas (Employee Handbook, Annual Pro-Am Golf Event branding 08/09/10); Barwa Bank (Developed identity for Youth Account); Other clients include Qatar Museums Authority, Four Seasons Hotels, Salam Stores, Qatar University and Nandos amongst others.
