Sustainable Development & Revitalization (SDNR) was founded in the third largest academic institution in Canada- York University and the Schulich School of Business. Although it began as a Major Research Project (MRP) the graduate and Ph.D students who initiated it came to the decision that far too much research was already in existence. The team then spent an additional two years gathering data, statistics and carrying out effective consultation. Upon completion, SDNR was officially launched in 2015.
As a community engagement organization, SDNR works to build bridges between rural and urban populations through major outreach projects. In addition to responding to RFPs, environmental, policy and entrepreneurship programming, the SDNR team also carries out major fashion events in various Canadian cities such as Toronto, Montreal and Ottawa.
Much of SDNR's work revolves around the 17 Sustainable Development Goals that were launched by the United Nations in 2015. Projects are thus carried out by university educated professionals from a wide array of disciplines including environmental sciences, innovation, law, political science, health policy, sustainable development, fashion, marketing, technology and transparency.
