Selena Franceschi was born in Ischia, Naples, in 1992. She attended a “Liceo Classico” (grammar school) and then she had several photography classes where she used to live. After that, she moved to Florence and she attended “LABA - Libera Accademia di Belle Arti (Free Academy of the Fine Arts) where she got a degree in photography in 2017 with top marks. The project “Ou-to’pos”, she carried out as her degree thesis, dealt with a survey conducted in Campania, Italy, concerning the public works which have started but have never been completed. She travelled to several European towns, in order to carry out some news reports as well as some personal projects such as documentaries. In 2018, she went as far as Galway, on occasion of the referendum on the abortion. In Turin, she documented the demonstrations which took place before the 2018 elections, against CasaPound. She also carried out a project concerning the landscape. At the moment she lives in London, where she aims to accomplish her studies.
