About me
I am a British- Cypriot ceramic artist with seven years of experience in creating sculptural ceramics and a 1st-class degree in Ceramics. My practice hybridises traditional and contemporary craft, sculpture, and painting, exploring the nuances of the representation of women and the vessel. In my recent works, I have delved further into the representation and practices of women in craft: particularly traditional Cypriot female potters. Unravelling my familial connection to Cyprus, its material heritage and my devotion to craft, has united my creative and cultural identity. In October 2020, I commenced a three-month Post Graduate Certificate residency at the Cyprus College of Art, Lemba: developing my research and practical expertise in traditional ceramics crafting, studying under Lemba Pottery. In February 2021, the works from this residency, will be exhibited at the Nicosia Municipal Arts Centre ( NiMAC) for their exhibition: ‘Seeking Roots’.
