An award winning writer from Vancouver, Canada, currently residing in London to explore and be inspired by the creativity of the city and its people. I have recently graduated from the University of British Columbia's prestigious Creative Writing program with a Class 1 Standing, and am looking to gain further experience within publishing and/or film. I have previous work experience in customer service, administration, film production, and freelance writing, and would love to find a position in which my hard-working ethic, organization, and creativity will be put to good use and continue to be built upon.
Freelance columnist for city newspaper. Column was approximately 500 words and ran once weekly regarding campus and student life in the Greater Vancouver area.
This position began as a student work experience role while I was still attending school full-time. It involved scheduling appointments for students with advisors, research, communications, and data entry. Upon graduation, I was offered a role as an Associate Advisor. I dealt mainly with student appointments regarding degree requirements, course planning, and occasionally appeal cases. The position also involved email communication and research.
This position was within a temporary staffing office. I worked various administrative positions throughout the Greater Vancouver area, including: data entry, front desk reception, and phone operator.
I took on several day calls through the spring, summer, and fall months working on both outdoor film and television production sets throughout Vancouver. Prior to these positions, I completed the necessary certifications required to work on film sets in British Columbia, Canada.
Major in Creative Writing Completed with Class 1 Standing Dean's List Nominated for Outstanding Leadership Award in Faculty of Arts Areas of study included: screenwriting, fiction, creative non-fiction, literature, and sociology.
Advanced Motion Picture Production. Completed certifications for entry level work in British Columbia film and television industry. Worked on several student film productions in various roles including: writer, producer, casting director, first and second assistant directors.
