About me
Shaikh is a Bangladesh born Photographer based in Britain. Enlightened by his own migration experiences, Shaikh is profoundly driven to work in the field of Documentary and Photojournalism. He also has a keen interest in History and Cultures, that often reflected in his subjects. Shaikh’s works have been exhibited at the Ruskin Gallery in Cambridge, Truman Brewery in London, and the Atelier Photo Gallery in Prague.

  • R  for Rainbow
    R for Rainbow“R for Rainbow” was created during the 1st Lockdown period of the COVID 19 pandemic in 2020 , in a collaboration with my two years old daughter Sarah. Since all the outdoor activities were restricted Sarah replaced them with some extra freedom of making her version of graffiti all over the interior wall . Meanwhile, I kept myself busy photographing her daily activities, and finally, by placing those images into her scrabble drawing I tried to reinvent a juxtaposition where art and emotion clinc
  • A Very British Origin
    A Very British OriginModern Britain is bonded in many ties of culture and tradition throughout the world. Most of these connections are rooted in its imperial past. Where India was one of the largest colonies of the British empire, and deeply intertwined with the political and economic prosperities for hundreds of years. In this project, a reflective juxtaposition of past and present have been drawn upon the line of historic reality to depict the fact of "A very British Origin", in the United Kingdom.

It also enables them to explore their creative potential. As a part of the team, I had the opportunity to work on different projects, such as. • Roma and Gypsy communities • Local communities and Festivals (Brandon festival) • The Big draw events in the Geology Museum of the University of Cambridge. • Jimmy’s Night Shelter in Cambridge with rough sleepers and homeless people • Mixed Bag Theatre Group with people of disabilities
