Sea Seeds emerged as the top project in the RCA Grand Challenge 2023, a competition aligned with UNESCO's UN Ocean Decade (2021–2030) goals. This innovative concept was developed in partnership with the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI), focusing on citizen science-led practices for enhancing ocean health and productivity. Sea Seeds transforms water sports into environmental action. We created a fun, easy way for kayakers and sailors to plant seagrass while enjoying the waves. Our innovative, biodegradable seed casings made from seaweed and oyster shells make replanting a breeze. It's a simple idea with a big impact: helping restore our oceans.
