SMUG is an independent design store based in Islington. My main repsonbilities lie within marketing and PR, managing product press releases, creating content for social channels, newsletter and ‘The Smuggler’ blog. Other responsibilties include the organisation and prepartation of the SMUG led Islington Design District for London Design Festival.

Editorial Assistant

Urban Junkies is a weekly newsletter and guide to London with a readership of over 80,000 people. In this role I am required to update the online calendar with events and recent openings, including exhibitions, resturants and hotels. As an intern, I believe that this experience has been invaluable to my development in terms of editorial and writing skills.
Responsibilities
• Writing content for the website and weekly newsletter
• Creating a social media strategy and schedule
• Researching online for information that might suit the Urban Junkies site
• Uploading content to wordpress, alondsige images and data
• Understanding the UJ market and creating a writing style that fits the UJ tone
