I am a film editor from Bombay, India with a keen interest in experimental film and video art. I also actively advocate the need for preserving and restoring celluloid film. I have interned at the George Eastman Museum in Rochester, NY (Motion Picture Department) and supervised restoration of a feature project. Having worked for around a decade in the Bollywood industry (both in commercial and independent projects across platforms - advertising, feature films, documentaries and television shows), I reckoned it was time to diversify so I moved to the UK to explore work/internship/study opportunities in 1. Contemporary art practices; 2. Museology and curation; 3. Film programming; 4. Film curation et al.
I'd like to explore some older interests and perhaps make way for something new and totally diverse in the arts sector as well. I know for one, as Gilbert and George once stated - 'To be with art is all we ask'.
I am on Dots to look at options that can help utilise my film background, expand my horizon beyond the one form of art, and steer me towards a more fulfilling career.
