I can draw on a robust knowledge of design, advertising, photography, cinema, animation and fine art to create contemporary, contextually and culturally rich ideas. I have proven project management skills, am able to run budgets and teams for long or short-term projects. I excel at leading teams in still and moving image creation on set or location using knowledge and skills gained from years of production. I studied Visual Communication at Brighton University and The Royal College of Art. I have always drawn to strong colour combinations and textures and spent a great deal of his time in the photography departments learning skills that took him on location work for Getty Images around the world. Twice. I have always drawn to express ideas for commercial projects as well as submit illustration work to Getty Images. Encouraged by a fellow artist, I have begun painting to bring these passions together in one medium that fulfills a long ambition to create abstract images. I have been inspired by worldwide travels, through Australia, Canada, California, Arizona, Utah, New Mexico, Florida, New York, France Germany, Italy, India, Thailand, New Zealand and the myriad of peoples and personalities met along the way.
I have been commissioned for advertising, fashion and product imagery from initial concept to delivery. Clients include: Spyker Cars, Metropolitan Police, BAR Formula One Team, Sony, Toshiba, Bloomsbury Books, and award winning work for MTV studios. I have worked with VIP’s including Sir Jackie Stewart, Bernie Ecclestone and HRH The Prince of Wales.
I lead and mentor a team of eight photographers working in studios that operate seventeen hours per day seven days per week. Projects range from fashion, beauty, jewellery, homeware to food. Often on key branding projects overseas I self shoot to speed up joint location work with the video department. I have created imagery and studio operations Style Guides for International QVC’s that are being distributed as part of focused international growth. I have designed and implemented a Creative Image Library that shares globally over 3,500 keyword searchable creative images produced in the UK. In February 2017 I was nominated for a QVC International Award of Excellence for my work on the 2016 Christmas campaign.
Melody Trix was a live interactive Arabic quiz show for the Middle East and North Africa region. The $1m project included the planning, design and implementation of Interactive platforms for 21 Middle East telephone networks, interactive television gallery, graphics console for vision mixer, on-screen graphics and physical set, I developed a training school for locally recruited crews and presenters, designed show content in Arabic and presentation strategies for the region.
www.HDRI-studio.com was created to push 360 degree image capture technology to its limit and produce the very best and most versatile examples of physical lighting scenarios for 3D rendering. Clients include: Mercedes, Renault, Cadillac, Pioneer.
Collaborating with multi award winning director Mario Cavalli, I was the Director of Photography for ‘The Cask of Amontillado’ a 15 minute period drama shot on 35mm film.. Twentieth Century Fox was impressed enough with my first DoP project to consider releasing it as a short with Cate Blanchet’s ‘Elizebeth’. The film earned me membership of BAFTA. I was also Director of Photography for several animated commercials and music videos including Lemon Jelly and Killing Joke.
I studied graphics, photography and film surrounded by talents such as Jonathan Barnbrook, (Barnbrook), David Ellis (Why Not Associates), Angus Hyland (Pentagram), Phil Baines. I collaborated with Peter Cattaneo (Dir The Full Monty), Lance O'Connor (Aerofilm LA), Chris Dudman (Robbers Dog NZ), Pete Salmi (Bark Fims). In 2015 The Royal College of Art was voted 'The Best Art College in the World' in the QS World University Rankings. It was as good then as it is now.
