About me
I am passionate about making superb imagery for strong ideas. My current role is a cross disciplinary one, between clients, photographers and designers. I sharpen concepts into strong campaigns and imaginative imagery for all manner of platforms. I have over 15 years of international art direction experience creating original, conceptually and visually strong content. I can draw on a robust knowledge of design, advertising, photography, cinema, animation and fine art to create contemporary, contextually and culturally rich ideas. I have proven project management skills, am able to run budgets and teams for long or short-term projects. I excel at leading teams in still and moving image creation on set or location using knowledge and skills gained from years of production. My work has led me around the globe building long-term client relationships.
Projects
  • Typographical Collages Promoting AUG/SEPTTypographical Collages utilising the logo of August/September to promote the company to potential clients across multiple platforms.
  • Images on Construction theme for Getty ImagesConcept, art direction and photography for Getty Images. The ongoing worldwide development of city centres continues with no forseeable reduction in speed or spread. This double edged theme has been a calling for me for several years. Here is a selection of images from July 2020.
  • Drawing ProjectA selection of images from a drawing project using digital tools to produce a free flowing style with elements of etching textures. From architectural themes to natural scenes, a technique that is versatile and emotive. Images: St Paul's Cathedral, Woodcock Skeleton and Longhorn Bull.
  • Arrow Concepts for Getty ImagesFrom a series of self briefed projects for Getty Images: Re-imagine Arrow images for the twenty first century that reflect new concepts and trends in tech fields. Images must translate into multiple visual langauges and cultures for global distribution.
  • The South West LanscapeNestled into the plains of Colorado are some fading parts of American history. The Colorado Plateau is 5600ft above sea level, higher than any mountain in the UK. In some cases the properties and infrastructure the settlers built has been standing for over one hundred years. The buildings have been sculpted by the cycle of annual temperature variations, exposed to one hundred degrees in the summer and minus ten in the winter snows. These tough working environments create their own aesthetic, the aesthetic of survival. A massive thank you to my hosts and the communities that so warmly accepted me into their fold. • The American RanchDespite cattle ranchers in Colorado enduring the worst draught in recent memory, the traditional skills of Cowboys are being kept alive in branding season. Roundups are part of daily life with everyone pitching in on each other’s herds to speed the process up and keep everyone safe. The heat hits one hundred degrees at about mid morning and there is no possibility of a break until all the branding work is done. Calves born early in the season have matured and are bigger, stronger and more diffi

I studied Visual Communication at Brighton University and The Royal College of Art. I have always drawn to strong colour combinations and textures and spent a great deal of his time in the photography departments learning skills that took him on location work for Getty Images around the world. Twice. I have always drawn to express ideas for commercial projects as well as submit illustration work to Getty Images. Encouraged by a fellow artist, I have begun painting to bring these passions together in one medium that fulfills a long ambition to create abstract images. I have been inspired by worldwide travels, through Australia, Canada, California, Arizona, Utah, New Mexico, Florida, New York, France Germany, Italy, India, Thailand, New Zealand and the myriad of peoples and personalities met along the way.
