I produced all editorial content on Amazon Alexa pertaining to the news and the speech assistant's "personality, making "her" more human. On top of that, I was the project manager behind the expansion of editorial features, creating new forms to share content on a medium never explored before.
I was number two in the management chain of all editorial content at Maadi Messenger, an English-speaking print magazine in Egypt. I commissioned and edited all content and contributed two articles per issue. Additionally, I was the Lead Social Media Strategist, ensuring digital versions of the articles to circulate on social media and the WWW.
I worked as a freelance writer in the Middle East, contributing to publications on four continents, including VICE, Elite Daily and on self-established blogs about my travels with refugees in summer 2015.
I was a Senior Staff Writer at Egypt's biggest English-speaking online magazine. I pitched original features and produced all contents, from interview transcripts to pictures to in-house video productions. On top of that, I was an account manager on the digital agency side of the publication, supporting events, activations and content needs for clients such as Nespresso, Reebok, and Coca-Cola.
I studied International Relations with an emphasis on qualitative and quantitative research methods. The MRes shared a curriculum with the Master of Science pathway, however, with an added module in Statistics.
I studied History & Politics with an emphasis on Russian and Comparative European History and Politics. My elective was French. I completed the four-year course in three years.
