I began my writing career with an internship at Macmillan Publishing House (2012). After completing various editorial placements, I began to build a professional writing portfolio. My work now includes features for online and print magazines as well as international brands and businesses. I have worked as a Freelance Writer for several fashion, beauty, and lifestyle publications, such as Drafted magazine. I have interviewed up-and-coming filmmakers for the indie magazine, Micro Filmmaker, and have reviewed new London restaurants for the online magazine, Secret D’Or. I have covered various launches and industry events, ranging from store openings to London Fashion Week. Such experiences have given me the opportunity to develop my pitching, researching, and writing skills, and extensively network to create new contacts. During my freelance career, I have also worked for Oyster. Oyster is a travel company owned by TripAdvisor with an online site that reviews hotels around the world. My primary responsibilities were pitching ideas for blogs on a weekly basis, keeping abreast of travel trends, and executing copy in line with Oyster’s brand voice. StaaG is a luxury lifestyle brand with a focus on heritage sports. I have worked with this brand for three years. Projects for StaaG have included, but are not limited to, creating a sports event guide for 2015, writing copy for the website, and covering sporting events such as the Arena Polo Gold Cup. Similarly, I have worked for the champagne house, Jean Boucton, for several years now in an editorial capacity.

Oyster prides itself on publishing hotel reviews that offer extensive analysis and in-depth scrutiny. As the London Hotel Reviewer, my day-to-day tasks include touring hotels and making extensive notes, conducting interviews with hotel management, and carrying out my own autonomous research. After a visit, I then write a thorough review assessing the location, bedrooms, restaurant, communal areas, facilities, and pricing – all to a strict deadline. My role has encouraged me to develop my interview techniques and fact-finding skills, to work autonomously and effectively to a deadline, and has helped me to create a wide network of contacts in the travel industry. Occasional travel abroad is included in my position. Most recently I reviewed hotels in Venice.
