With nearly 10 years of retail experience, a degree within Fashion Design and being heavily involved within three start-up businesses of which two are successful and I am now looking to work within a company where I can use my previous experiences to further grow my skill set and flourish.

Formed in 2014, La'Mis is a luxury lingerie start-up. Since creating the vision and first capsule collection, we have managed to gain SEIS accreditation for La'Mis and raised £45k worth of investment through assistance of a wealth management company and their HNW clients. This enabled samples to be produced by leading lingerie and garment manufacturers and allowed us organise, manage and direct a high-end photo-shoot with a well known industry photographer and model. This enabled the creation of all our literature and marketing materials. During the process of sampling and manufacture, I built strong supplier and client relationships from the UK, Morocco and India.
Throughout this process, I have gained two mentors with UKTI and several connections within Marketing, Graphic Design, Web Development and Accounting.
Unfortunately, this venture did not succeed, we did not raise enough capital to carry on La'Mis to its full potential. However, the extensive knowledge about the fashion industry and communication skills I have learned along the way are invaluable.
Responsibilities -
- I designed and developed each garment of the two ranges, sourced the fabrics and components and made sure everything was delivered to the manufacturers on time to meet deadlines. I also designed the packaging and the branding for the company.
- Creating and following a strict critical path to ensure all deadlines were met.
- Working closely with manufacturers in the UK, India and Morocco to have all the samples ready to show buyers.
- Working closely with the website developer to create an ecommerce website.
- Taking care of the accounts, cash forecasts, budgeting all expenses and day to day administration.
- Worked with a UKTI mentor to become SEIS registered and pitch our proposal in front of a series of investors.

Throughout my time at Confetti, I learned a lot within various departments including SEO and logistics. My main role was to choose and upload new products from our existing suppliers and find new suppliers to keep the ecommerce website on trend with the latest wedding themes. I also maintained close relationships with the warehouse employees for inventory checks on a weekly basis. I managed the drop shipment suppliers to make sure all orders were personalised correctly to minimise discrepancies. During the final 6 months of working at Confetti, I worked one day a week with the SEO manager and worked with her to build traffic to the website during the companies rebranding and merge with the Canadian company Weddingstar.
