Hi, it’s Sofia. I am a conceptual designer driven by curiosity and passion for everyday life challenges. I love being part of a team, meeting new people, and seeking optimal solutions for complex design opportunities. However, I don’t see myself only as a problem solver but also as a skeptical person who envisions a more valuable tomorrow and strives to craft intuitive users’ experiences.

- A diary study. This is how I feel todayInspired by the work of Andersen et al [1] “Games in emotional space’’, I created this diary study to discreetly touch on intimate issues related to emotions by employing, instead of verbal communication, crafting activities. HostessHubble Cafe
- Eindhoven, NetherlandsPart Time
While studying in the Netherlands, I was working at Hubble, a cafeteria inside the campus of TU/e. I was responsible for welcoming the guests, maintaining a cozy vibe at the cafeteria, and organizing events and gigs. Having the certificate of Social Responsibility on my hands, I was able to run the café on my own. That gave me a great sense of taking charge and being proactive. Besides enhancing organizational skills, my overall ten-years’ experience in that area helped me to sharpen my emotional intelligence, a key aspect of a successful career

Masters Degree in Industrial DesignUniversity of Technology Eindhoven
- Eindhoven, Netherlands
During my Master’s in Industrial Design, I specialized in “Research, Design and Development” focusing on ‘User & Society’ and ‘Creativity & Aesthetic’ domains. I have ample experience in UI/UX design and know how to work efficiently with stakeholders and design with respect to the end-users. Attention to detail, creativity, conceptual thinking, and problem-solving are skills that define me as a designer. Through my design projects, I learnt to conduct design research, elicit meaningful insights, and translate them into significant knowledge for the design process. My ways of working are rooted in Thinking through Making, Research through Design, and Experimental Research methods such as Embodiment Techniques.
