Sofia Wickerhauser is a screenwriter and filmmaker in love with Queer cinema, photography, anime, and video games.
Her first short, “The Wolf and the Dragon,” a fable made with shadow theater, started her fascination with fantastic imagery. With four shorts that screened at over 200 editions of festivals – including BFI Flare, Frameline, Leeds Inter, Palm Springs – she is known today for having a sensitive eye and surprising points of view.
As of 2021, she’s a member of the Academia Brasileira de Cinema (Brazilian Film Academy).

- Close Your EyesAn elderly couple seeks shelter in a hotel room not realising the danger might already be inside. Much like the series "TheWalking Dead" and other films in the “elevated horror” genre, this short film centres not on the threat outside but on the internal and external disputes of the survivors.
