About me

I am an Designer/Illustrator. Within my illustration practice, I use drawing to translate observations into communicable images, capturing people, places, and moments in time. With a sketchbook or camera in hand, I never miss an opportunity, although sometimes memory has to suffice. My aim is that each piece coveys a sense of place and a captured moment. Whilst in most cases I record what I see, I hope that through hand drawn lines, I can communicate further what it felt like to be in a particular place. I am also a co-founder of First Hand Reportage Illustration Collective, along side 7 other illustrators and designers. We record events through visual note taking and use social media to share the illustrations, live at events. The illustrations are typically curated into a chronological exhibition, creating a visual summary of the day.

  The Inkling Magazine 2013/ 2014I produced Illustration for The Inkling Magazine journal in 2013/ 2014. The inkling Magazine is an online arts and culture magazine and annual print publication that encourages a personal and accessible approach to young, intelligent writing. The Inkling has published two collections of essays (the most recent of which was described by Foyles as ‘a quality of discussion to aspire to’) and is currently working on a third, to be published in 2016, and sold at TATE and the ICA, among other stockis
• Thai Textile Print DesignsTextile print designs, developed from drawings made on location in Thailand. The designs aim to reflect the vibrancy of Thailand.
• Picture BookI designed and Illustrated a picture book adaptation of the classic greek myth Nisus and Scylla . The interactive format of the book presents the narrative from three different viewpoints so that the reader is involved in piecing together the strange sequence of events. Using mono print, linocut and digital print processes.
• Business Card DesignBusiness Card Design for professional Artist and Furniture painter. The design aims to summarise the work of the Artist in one flowing image.
• New Blood Art VoucherPromotional vouchers designed for New Blood Art. -Image sourcing and editing - Hand rendered typography - Type setting - Design
• Cover DesignFront cover design for a book about nutrition, by food specialist.

I was invited by Turf Projects to lead a drawing tour, celebrating the 50th anniversary of Croydon becoming a London Borough. I planned and coordinated a two hour, structured drawing tour, which encouraged students to explore drawing technique, through carefully observed drawing.
