I currently work as a Senior Design Manager / Junior Strategist at
Studio Round, in Carlton, Melbourne and will be moving to London mid December this year. During my time at Round I’ve been given a number of opportunities to work with brands across a multitude of sectors to create identities and campaigns which are not only visually compelling, but are also rooted in clear concepts and work to encourage change in behaviour.
One of the highlights of my career so far has been the re-brand of Koko Black, an Australian chocolate retailer. The CEO came to us with the colourful goal to “F**k with the chocolate category”. The key challenge for this project was to not only re-define Koko Black in the market but to also change the way in which people consume chocolate. As a young country, Australia is known for its new-world take on old-world traditions, including wine and coffee, Koko Black are harnessing this trailblazing spirit to ‘break the mould’, creating new recipes, new experiences, and new reasons to savour one of life’s greatest pleasures. I immediately connected with this audacious ambition and have enjoyed (nearly) every minute working as part of a team to develop the brand, business and experience strategy to support it.
I have worked with Koko Black for almost two years, independently managing the project. Round has successfully delivered a full-rebrand as well as new packaging, art direction, store design, content development and multiple campaigns.
While I’ve been developing enhanced skills by working holistically on projects, including strategy and management, I’m hoping to move into a role that is purely strategic. Specifically, I would see this as creative strategist either on campaign ideation or brand building.
I’m looking forward to breaking new ground in London, to be challenged and to challenge. I want to be part of a team which provides an environment which I can grow and harness my capabilities and in turn I bring passion, an eagerness to learn and a new creative mind.
