- Natural balayageThis is one of many pictures of my work, presenting a natural balayage technique I did on my client before the lockdown. Balayage is one of my favourite things to do when it comes to hair colouring. The technique provides a seamless blend, while being able to add details to frame her features. The tone of her hair colour also makes it easier in terms of upkeep for the client and she may not need to come to the salon as frequently.

I progressed onto a role at Foster London as a hairstylist because I felt there were certain aspects of hair that I missed doing that I wasn’t able to do while at my previous salon. I knew I could show off my skills a lot better at this salon and improve my portfolio, in terms of social media. I am self employed at this salon also, so that has made a change too.

Once I moved up to London is when I started at Hershesons. Ideally I wanted a stylist role at the main salon but they only had stylist positions available at their blow-dry bar, based at Selfridges. I gained a lot of technical experience from there and knowledge from many other great stylists. I also took part in extra training in the salon and had the opportunity to lead some for the upcoming blow dry bar stylists also. I was here for a year and a half.
