About me

I am a friendly, creative, smart and hard working individual with a passion for creativity and a strong administrative and interpersonal skill set. Over the past four years I have developed my career working within creative industries across an array of roles: from receptionist and administrative positions at galleries and studios, to providing production assistance to set builders and art fabricators. As a freelance production assistant I have worked on a range of installations, editorials, films and look books for a number of clients such as Christopher Shannon, Anish Kapoor and Nike Town. These roles have required me to be highly adaptable and personable at all times in managing various client specifications. I thrive within fast paced creative environments and believe my expertise at their strongest when I am supporting a team, providing administrative support and working in client facing roles. As Marketing and Communications Officer at London Sculpture Workshop I work closely with the Director and Workshop Manager to programme short courses, plan events and manage the day-to-day running of the studios. A high level of organisation is required to support the team with diary management, booking travel arrangements and screening all email enquiries. In this role I am also responsible for all public facing communications as well as managing relationships with key stakeholders and partners. A recent example of this was to organise and host a programme of events with art organisations such as Just Got Made and Crafts Council, in order to engage the public with participatory and creative opportunities. I believe I demonstrate excellent IT literacy in managing all social media platforms for LSW as well as writing and updating website content using Wordpress and overseeing course bookings with Eventbrite. I am keen to continue developing these skills and I am currently enrolled on an evening course at City and Islington College to develop my skills in CS Package Suite. Key achievements in this role also include developing audience numbers and engagement; Twitter followers have increased threefold during my employment and I have helped doubled the mailing database through increased online public engagement. Whilst working at Ideas Generation as a Gallery Assistant I was commended for ‘being very organised and incredibly efficient, a calming influence, pleasure to be around and pre-empting problems and resolving them’ of my own accord. I was responsible for managing client facing areas of the studio, greeting all visitors, providing administrative support including stock orders, answering calls as well as overseeing health and safety checks and procedures. As Assistant Supervisor and Prop Maker at Tarver Productions I supervised junior members of staff and provided induction training and support whilst working in an extremely fast paced environment and to rapidly changing deadlines. Additionally, my experience of working in freelance positions demonstrates my ability to write sales invoices, and to chase late payments of invoices. I am keen to work within an inspirational and visionary company as I am confident I have a lot to offer.
