I recently graduated with a First Class BA (Hons) in English Literature from the University of Sheffield. I have undertaken internships at British Vogue and The Tab UK. These internships have allowed me to develop my knowledge of the media industry and gain experience relevant to my career objectives from some of the country’s leading journalists.
At university, I take part in a range of activities outside of my studies. I am currently the Deputy Editor for the Sheffield Tab where I pitch story ideas, work as part of a team to boost our traffic and edit stories by our team of writers. This role has improved my leadership skills, as I must delegate tasks and take responsibility for the site overall. This has given me insight into how publications are run commercially. Having written for The Tab for over two years, I understand the importance of branding and can immediately tell if a story will do well or not.
My previous role as Fashion Editor at The Tab Sheffield included working on a weekly best dressed on campus feature, writing articles on student fashion, and boosting the site’s fashion content as their first Fashion Editor. Over summer 2016, I completed a three-month Babe Writing Fellowship, writing articles for the fastest growing women’s site in the world. Overall, my articles for The Tab and Babe have received over 500,000 views. These positions also gave me the opportunity to spend one week writing for The Tab UK in their London office. I learnt how a modern online publication works and, being there the week of the EU Referendum, I learnt the importance of writing and publishing news stories quickly and efficiently.

For the last few years I have been running a zine that I founded. It has been acquired by London College of Fashion and is currently part of their Special Collections in the UAL library. This role involves coordinating writers, writing articles, curating layouts, styling and directing photo shoots and editing submissions from contributors from all over the world. The zine was available to purchase in print or as a PDF on Etsy until July 2018. The latest issue is available to view for free on Issuu.
