About me
My name is Spyros Kourtelesis and I am a graphic designer, specializing in branding & identity design, typography and illustration. I graduated from London College of Communication (UAL), where I studied an FdA in Design for Graphic Communication and a BA (Hons) in Graphic and Media Design. Along with my studies, I have worked in several internships located in Athens, Greece. In addition, I have worked as a freelance designer, with clients from branding - identity design to advertising campaigns. After working as a junior designer in a design studio in Athens, I decided to apply for the MA in Brands, Communication & Culture, at Goldsmiths University. Recently graduated from my master’s degree, I am currently working as a freelance designer.
Projects
- What is Bitmap? (Bitmap vs Vector)Self-initiated project. This project explores the differences and similarities that an image can have using the technique of bitmap compared to vector images. Apart from the use of computer software, the technique of screen-print has been used in order to study the concept of this project. This self-initiated project was part of my final year outcomes in LCC, BA (Hons) Graphic and Media Design. The format of this outcome is a newspaper, that provides key aspects of my research and analysis.
- Wasted Control FanzineWasted Control is a punk music band based in Athens, Greece. Their desire was to create a fanzine and a logo for their band in order to be introduced to the audience of the punk music scene. This project is part of my freelance design projects and several methods have been used in order to reach to the final outcome. The logo was created with the technique of letterpress. - Lefakis Maris GalleriesGallery Lefakis is one of the major art galleries in Athens, Greece. Since they wanted to refresh their identity designs, I was asked to give a fresh touch to their existing logo and produce creative outcomes for their stationary. This project is part of my freelance design projects.
