Precision and a keen eye for detail is also essential to this role, as it creates a striking difference when applying products on a customer in person. Furthermore, during my time at M.A.C I have been given the role of VIVA GLAM Ambassador on my counter. This is a well respected role which helps to further the VIVA GLAM lipstick sales, thus raising money and awareness for people affected by HIV/AIDS. Part of this job role is creating a weekly look, featuring one of the VIVA GLAM shades. This is a great demonstration of my capability to research themes or current trends which will inspire myself to create interesting, innovative looks. This ,in turn, draws in customers, generating revenue and demonstrates my capability of working to a deadline.
My previous role was as an Art, photography and textiles technician at Stockwood Park Academy in Luton. Under this role I was asked to perform many tasks from routine setting up classes and activities for the children to helping within the classroom. Ordering, creation of exemplars and trip organizations are just a few of the other roles which I had to undertake in this role as well. It was as a technician I was also given the chance to help educate the students on certain subjects as well such as; photography, introductory Photoshop, sewing skills and various art techniques and methods. During my time here I was also able to improve on my own skills, both social and artistic, building my confidence and my ability to perform as an individual.
In December of 2015, I attended a weeks internship at the retouching firm Digital Light LTD in London. This was a great experience for me as I was able to attain an inside look at to what it is like to work within the retouching industry and to better understand its demanding and fast paced nature. I was able to work and experiment with different styles from fashion to beauty editing and was able to further my skills within this industry. This has been one of my most enjoyable job roles, something which I have felt passionately about and that I feel I excelled, better understanding what it takes to be successful in the retouching industry.
My previous job was working part time at the Fever and Boutique Bar and Lounge in Northampton. Within this position I was able to work upon my social skills, while also performing under a high-pressure environment that is susceptible to erratic behaviour from customers. Due to this, I am able to better understand the nature of customer service and how to best meet the means of my customers as well as my employers.
In August of 2015, I was employed in the Bletchley branch of Primark. I was in charge of the home ware department, where I would clean, stock and manage the area as well as taking over on tills when I was needed. From this job I was able to get an inside look as to how retail operates and I was able to develop my skills within a fast-paced working environment which demanded precision in up-keep, display and management.
During my summer break from university, I had been at estate agents. During my time there I learnt a lot about general office working practice and I improved upon my sales skills with customers, as I would have to deal with a wide variety of different clients on a daily basis. I also had the opportunity to show clientele around properties with the aim of closing sales. This has equipped me with the confidence and necessary skills required to secure sales.
