I am a budding Filmmaker located in the West Midlands, with a varied creative background and a Yorkshire accent. From my hometown in Yorkshire to my university-home of London, I have always found a way to apply and expand my skills to become an asset to the creative companies I have joined. From Graphic Design to Storyboard Production, I love a new challenge and interacting with people day-to-day. I am currently looking to get back into Film. After achieving a 1st in my Film degree, I lost my way due to personal circumstances. Now, I am looking to find my first role in Film Production.

I was lucky enough to gain some Work Experience in the Art Department on Tim Burton's Dumbo while it was in production last year. Although I was strictly the responsibility of the Art Department, I was keen to know more about the whole production process. I then became more interested in on-set roles, including the roles of the ADs, and set dressing also caught my interest. I spent a lot of time with various people and departments, to try soak up as much information as possible.

Here, I was overseeing the production of storyboards for the advertising and entertainment industry from initial idea through to completion. Before long, I was liaising with big name clients such as Ogilvy and Weiden + Kennedy, while sourcing up-and-coming artists. We completed work for brands such as Dove, Ferrari, and VW. I really enjoyed how creative the role was, and that it also made me prioritise my workload very efficiently. Communication was key, and it is a skill I try to maintain today.

First Class Honours in Film Studies BA Hons.King's College London

I adored my time at King's College London, and absolutely thrived on expanding my theoretical knowledge of Film. I believe by studying theory, I will be able to produce better film work, simply because I understand what makes them so effective. By acknowledging that Film incorporates Social Studies, History, Politics, Economics - to name a few - as well as Art, you can better understand harvest the media's power in today's world. In my dissertation, I specialised in theorising the creation and design of sentient landscapes in animated movies. With an already vested interest in Production Design and sets, it was very rewarding to analyse spaces as characters that are tools for storytelling in the work of Pixar. Furthermore, their progression from & 3D animated reality into so-called 3D animated fantasy, really speaks more about audience's viewing capabilities, than it does Film Production's limitations.
