About me
BBC Multi-Skilled Technical Operator, currently sound mixing World Service output across multiple language services. -- I have worked in TV for over 6 years, helping to bring the news to different parts of the country with BBC England, and now working across World Service - across multiple disciplines including sound mixing, motion graphics and video editing. Outside of work, you'll often find me out with my camera, at the theatre or thinking about what I can do next creatively.

Sound mixing live broadcasts involving studio presentation, outside sources and contributors, studio guests and live-translation segments.

    Graphics - Design and creation of screen motion graphics for daily broadcast, as well as graphic inserts into news VTs and live “keyed-on” graphics for playout during transmission; fulfilling creative briefs from editorial staff and creating original material using the Adobe Creative Suite/Cloud and VizRT. Picture Editor - Editing news packages and related material alongside journalists - often to extremely tight deadlines using Quantel and Final Cut Pro; working with available footage from multiple sources. Sound Operator - Mixing live bulletins daily, as well as pre-recorded segments, and achieving the best quality sound through the use of diligent monitoring, compression, equalisation etc; preparing guests and contributors with sound equipment including microphones and talkback monitors; cabling and patching audio equipment via wallboxes and jackfields. Other duties are the Media Hub, where I oversee the ingest of journalists’ rushes and other material, and the recording of outside sources. This involves working with many different file types and formats, as well as physical media that has been archived.
